Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Make Cursive handles your text, saved favorites, website visits, and contact messages. The generator works in your browser without an account; visiting the website also involves hosting, analytics, and advertising services.

Privacy Policy: text and browser storage
Typed text
Text conversion, previews, PNG/SVG exports, and worksheet preparation run on your device. The generator does not send input to a text-processing API or save it in a Make Cursive account. Downloaded files and printed copies remain wherever you choose to save or send them.
Favorites
Saving a favorite stores its text, output, and style in your browser's localStorage under makeCursiveFavorites. Favorites are not synced between devices and can be visible to others using the same browser profile. Use Clear favorites or clear this site's browser data to remove them.
Text in links
New generator share links keep the text after the # in the address. That fragment is not sent in the HTTP page request, but anyone with the full link can read it, and it remains visible in browser history. Older links and some shortcuts can still put text in a query parameter, which may appear in hosting logs. Optional analytics and advertising stay off on shared-text links. Do not share passwords, private student information, or other sensitive material.
Worksheet settings and shortcuts
The worksheet generator's Save settings action stores font, layout, and paper preferences in localStorage under makeCursiveWorksheetSettingsV1, without practice text or names. Reset settings removes those preferences. Its settings links also exclude text. With JavaScript enabled, name and letter shortcuts place practice text in sessionStorage under makeCursiveWorksheetTransferV1 for the same-tab navigation and remove it on arrival. Unused transfers remain until overwritten or the tab session ends; transfers older than two minutes are not restored. Legacy text links and letter forms submitted without JavaScript can still contain text in the URL.
Website services, analytics, and advertising
Hosting
Vercel delivers the website and font files. Requests necessarily include technical information such as an IP address, requested URL, and browser details; hosting providers may retain operational logs for delivery, security, and troubleshooting. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
Google Analytics and AdSense
Google Analytics is off unless you explicitly allow it in Privacy choices in the footer. If allowed, it measures visits only to information pages such as About and Contact, using a page address without query parameters or fragments and no referring-page address. Analytics stays off in the generators, handwriting lessons, worksheets, and shared-text links. It may receive your IP address, browser/device information, and analytics cookie identifiers. Google advertising features, Google Signals, and ad personalization are disabled; the AdSense advertising script is currently not loaded. Advertising cookies and third-party vendors
Advertising is currently paused while account, audience, and consent requirements are checked. If advertising is enabled later, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and you can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
Adsterra native banners
Adsterra banners are currently paused and their advertising frames are not loaded by the site. Before advertising resumes, its consent and placement settings must be reviewed. If enabled, Adsterra and its advertisers may receive your IP address, browser and device information, the page URL, and cookie or similar identifiers. See Adsterra's Privacy Policy.
Microsoft Clarity
Clarity session replay is currently paused and its external script is not loaded. Allowing optional analytics does not enable session replay. Microsoft's handling of collected information is described in Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
These providers may process information in countries other than yours. Their privacy notices explain their processing, safeguards, and retention. External links take you to separately operated sites with their own policies.
Contact messages and retention
When you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments through our email provider. We use them to answer questions, investigate bugs, and handle requests. Please send a harmless sample instead of confidential text when reporting a problem.
Favorites remain on your device until removed by you or your browser. Downloads remain until you delete them. Contact correspondence may be retained to resolve the issue and maintain relevant records; you can request its deletion. Hosting, analytics, and advertising data have separate retention settings and provider policies. We do not promise a single retention period for all of these services.
Information may also be disclosed when necessary to respond to valid legal requirements, protect security, or investigate abuse. The current site has no account registration, checkout, or payment-data collection.
Your privacy choices and requests
Use Privacy choices in the footer to allow optional analytics or return to essential only. Your choice and its timestamp are stored on this browser for up to 180 days; if storage is unavailable, the choice lasts for this page only. Withdrawing analytics permission disables measurement and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies. This choice does not remove historical records held by a provider. You can also clear saved favorites and site data, block cookies or third-party scripts in your browser, use Google's ad controls, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies alone does not stop all network requests. Disabling ad personalization does not disable all measurement.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, request portability, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy regulator. Email hello@makecursive.com with the request and enough context to locate relevant records. We may need to verify the request; we cannot retrieve browser-only favorites from your device or directly erase records controlled independently by a provider.
This Privacy Policy explains data handling; reading it or using a generator is not a substitute for cookie consent where consent is required.
Children and classroom use
Adults can prepare worksheets for children without entering a child's full name or other identifying information. Children should use the site with a parent or teacher. We do not ask children to register or submit personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us to request review and removal where applicable.
Security and policy changes
No online service or shared link can be guaranteed secure. Avoid sensitive text, especially in URLs and email. We will revise this Privacy Policy and its updated date when the site's data practices change.
