The form of the name you type changes how it looks in script, so try more than one.
First names
A single name such as "Sophia" or "Noah" gives the script room to show its capital and joins. It suits name signs, profile images, and small labels.
Full names
"Isabella Rose" has two capitals and a word gap, so the line gets longer and the size has to come down. Pick a style with clear spacing between words.
Nicknames
Short names like "Bea," "Max," or "Lu" can look sparse in cursive. Bold or brush styles help a three-letter name feel balanced.
Initials
"A. R." or "AR" puts all the attention on capitals, which are the most decorative letters in script. Check that each capital is still recognizable, or use the variant builder above for a monogram.
Capitals and joins to watch
In a cursive name, the first capital sets the tone, and some letter combinations get harder to read once joined.
- Large looped capitals: the cursive L, S, and J have long loops; J also drops below the baseline. Names like "Liam," "Sophia," or "James" can look top-heavy in a formal style.
- Unfamiliar capitals: in many American school models the cursive Q resembles a large number 2, and cursive I and J can be confused. If readers may not know cursive, choose a simpler style for names such as "Quinn" or "Isaac."
- Double letters: "Anna," "Emma," "Isabella," and "Harry" repeat humps or loops. In tight fonts "nn" and "mm" can blur into a wave, so compare a style with more open spacing.
- Capitals that do not join: in common school models, capitals such as O, D, P, V, and W usually stop before the next letter, while A, C, M, and N often connect. Fonts follow their own rules, so the gap after the first letter may differ from what you learned.

Compare "Isabella Rose" with "Isabella" or "I. Rose" so the result does not feel crowded.
Watch descenders
Letters like g, j, y, and z need extra space below the baseline when exported as images.

Decorative names should still be readable after export. If the first capital is too ornate, try a simpler style.

Accented names may fall back
The copyable styles only convert plain A to Z, so "Zoë," "José," or "Chloé" keep a regular accented letter in the middle. Some visual fonts also lack accented characters, and the browser fills the gap with another font.
Screen readers and search
Unicode script letters are separate symbols, so screen readers may spell them out or skip them, and search may not find the name. Keep the plain name in usernames and alt text.
Professional use needs review

Name generator questions
Why does my copied name look different in another app?
Copyable names are Unicode characters, and each app or phone draws them with its own fallback font. For a fixed look, export a PNG or SVG instead.
Can I make a name with an accent or a non-Latin alphabet?
You can type it, but accented letters may not match the script style, and non-Latin alphabets are not converted. Zoom in on the preview before exporting.
Is a generated name a legal signature?
