Typed signature
Cursive Signature Generator
Create a typed cursive signature from your name or initials, then export it as PNG or SVG. This page is best for quick visual signatures, profile graphics, and document mockups.
Short names, bios, captions, and phrases work best.
Signature mode favors clean names, initials, and short phrases.

How to choose a signature style
A good typed signature balances two things: it should look handwritten, and it should still be readable at the size where people will see it. Use the Signature category in the style filter as a starting point, then narrow it down.
Readable or expressive
Fonts such as Sacramento, Satisfy, and Dancing Script keep most letters recognizable. Mr Dafoe, Mrs Saint Delafield, and Mr De Haviland have longer strokes and look more like a quick pen signature, but individual letters are harder to read.
Match the setting
An email sign-off or a portfolio header usually needs a readable style. A logo-like mark or a mockup of a signed letter can carry a more flowing style because the shape matters more than each letter.
Test the capitals
Capitals change the most between fonts. Compare how your first and last initials look in three or four styles before you decide. The uppercase letter reference shows the plain shapes.
Examples for different name lengths
The same font can look balanced on one name and crowded on another. These examples show what usually works.
Hyphenated and two-part surnames add an extra capital in the middle of the name. Check that both capitals fit without touching the letters around them; a slightly smaller size or the Wide export usually helps.
Export settings that matter for signatures
Transparent PNG
Choose a transparent background to place the signature on a document, slide, or image without a white box behind it. PNG is the safest choice for apps that do not handle SVG well.
SVG
SVG stays sharp at any size and suits design work. The file keeps the name as text with the font embedded, so check it after import; if an app shows a different font, use the PNG instead.
Size and color
Exports come in Standard (1200 x 420), Wide (1600 x 500), or Square (1000 x 1000). The name is placed on that canvas with margins, so crop the image if you need a tight fit. Black, dark green, and brown ink usually look more natural than red.
The PNG and SVG files are created in your browser rather than on a server, and saved favorites stay in your browser on this device. See the privacy page for details on site analytics.
Make it feel more natural
Reduce the text
If the full name feels too long, try initials, a first name, or a shorter display version.
Use dark ink
The black, green, and brown swatches usually feel more signature-like than bright colors.
Check small sizes
Export a preview and view it at the size where it will actually appear, such as an email footer or the bottom of a page.
What a typed signature is not
A generated signature is an image of your name in a script font. It is useful for design, mockups, and informal sign-offs, but it has clear limits:
- It is not a legally binding e-signature on its own. Electronic signature services usually record identity checks, consent, and an audit trail. An image pasted into a file does none of that. Check what the document, organization, or platform actually requires, and ask a qualified professional if it matters.
- It is not your handwritten signature. Banks and official forms may compare signatures, so do not replace your usual signature with a font on those documents.
- Only create a signature for yourself. Do not make or use a signature in someone else's name, and do not use the tool to imitate a real person's signature.
- Fonts have their own licenses. Check the font license before using a signature image in a commercial logo or product.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use this signature to sign a contract?
Not on its own. It is a picture of your name, not a verified electronic signature. Use the signing method the contract or platform specifies.
Why does my long name wrap onto two lines?
The export fits text inside a fixed canvas. Lower the size, choose the Wide export, or shorten the name to a first name and initial.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
Use a transparent PNG for documents, slides, and most apps. Use SVG when you need to scale the signature in a design tool and have checked that the font displays correctly there.
Is my name stored anywhere?
The preview and exports are generated in your browser, not on a server. If you save a favorite, it is stored in your browser on this device, and you can clear it from the favorites panel. The privacy page explains what site analytics collect.
Can I make it look more like my real handwriting?
A font cannot copy your handwriting. If you want a handwritten signature, use the generated version as a reference and practice it on paper.
